Privacy policy for Time Now Live

We built Time Now Live to answer a question in under a second. That goal happens to align neatly with privacy: the less we collect, the faster the site is. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or location to show you a clock.

What we collect

  • Nothing you type is stored on your behalf. Search queries are used to return results and are not tied to any identity.
  • Standard server logs. Requests generate short-lived technical records — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, user agent — used to operate the service, diagnose faults and detect abuse. These are retained briefly and then discarded.
  • Aggregate analytics. We may measure page views and general traffic patterns in aggregate to understand which cities and languages people need. We do not build advertising profiles from it.
  • Your preferences. Choices such as language or clock format may be kept in your own browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are readable only by this site.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not require registration, we do not run cross-site tracking of our own, and we do not ask for precise geolocation — the time zone your browser already reports is enough to show your local clock.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our own functionality uses local storage rather than tracking cookies. Third-party advertising, where enabled, may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure delivery and limit repeat impressions; this is governed by the relevant provider's own policy. Most browsers let you block or delete these, and the site keeps working if you do.

Third parties

Advertising networks, our hosting and content-delivery providers, and mapping services you choose to open from a map link each process data under their own terms. Following an external map link takes you to that provider, where their policy applies.

Children

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data relating to you, or to object to it. Because we hold so little — and nothing that identifies you by name — most requests are resolved quickly. Send requests through the contact page, clearly marked, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Security

We serve the site over encrypted connections, keep dependencies patched, and limit access to logs to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but holding minimal data is the strongest protection we can offer.

International transfers

Our infrastructure runs on distributed servers, so technical logs may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the date shown on it. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
