About the time in Brasília
Clocks in Brasília stay put all year. There is no summer-time switch to remember, so UTC −3 is what you will get in January and in July alike — useful if you book recurring calls with people in Brazil.
Brasília runs on America/Sao_Paulo, which puts the city UTC −3 from Coordinated Universal Time right now. The clock at the top of this page is not copied from your device: it is anchored to our reference timestamp and re-rendered every second against the IANA time zone database, so it stays right even when a laptop or phone has quietly drifted.
Brasília sits at latitude -15.79, in the tropical band, so day length here swings only a little between midwinter and midsummer — today's 12h 21m is one point on that curve, not a fixed value.
